Steve Garvey talks baseball and staying active
What are your thoughts on MLB Opening Day being postponed?
“All sports are in the entertainment business, especially at the professional level. MLB and other professional sports leagues have to be responsible to the people who support them. Whenever there’s a disaster or a crisis, they need to take leadership and adhere to the policies and regulations. There’s not really much they can do but I’m confident we’ll make it through this.”
What were you most looking forward to about this MLB season?
“Baseball is actually in the worst shape compared to other pro sports leagues because it hadn’t started yet. Basketball and Hockey were towards the end of their seasons, NFL and NCAA football are already finished, but Baseball was just about to kick off so it’s a bummer.
I was really looking forward to a great season in Los Angeles with the Dodgers. The Dodgers are as stacked as any time I can remember, going back to the 70s and early 80s. It’s not going to be a 162-game schedule, but the most important thing is for the players to be ready when the time comes so they can come back and entertain the fans.”
What are you doing to stay active during these times?
“Social distancing has been the key ingredient for me and my family. We are fortunate to have a property with a big yard that we can use to stay active. We try to get in 10,000 steps every day. I’ve been doing lots of body weight exercises, core work, dumbbells, resistance bands. I’m able to get about 70% of a normal workout. You just have to find a way.
That’s the great ability of our country – to be able to adjust to circumstances and find ways to keep living a normal life. We don’t know when normalcy will return so until then, it’s being creative and staying healthy as much as possible, laugh as much as you can, and staying close with your loved ones.”
Which Level Select products are your favorite?
“Having been involved with the initial development of the products, and using them for almost a year now, my favorites are a combo of Level 2 and 3 products. I use the Level 2 Oil Drops every single day, usually twice a day. I also use the Level 3 Sports Creams and Roll-Ons for aches and soreness.
Level Select CBD has really started to get some traction because it’s working for people. I always ask people to try it and give feedback, and I’ve never had anyone say it does not work for them or it’s not for them. The fragrance is just right, it’s not too heavy, not overbearing and the products really work. But the most important thing I tell people is to use Level Select CBD twice a day. Level 3 is a little stronger for the more active person or the person with the accrual of aches and discomfort so I would say Level 3 is probably my favorite.”
Any final thoughts you would like to share with the Level Select CBD community?
“I would just say that CBD is natural and really does have a positive effect on our bodies. And now more than ever, I will continue to use it at least twice a day. I’m seeing steady improvement in my shoulders, knees, back and all over. I recommend you give it a try so you can experience the same positive benefits I have.”
